home and local food

Links

New site www.helpalllivefairly.org.uk, ‘help all live fairly’ for what we can do besides growing food in our gardens, supplemented by food grown by local, ideally vegan-organic, growers supplying veg boxes, mail order etc. Fair Trade / fair shares is shorthand for the other ‘half’ of the solution. 6/3/08

See www.homeandlocalfood.co.uk, for an index and introductions to all my websites, including:
Design for Revolution, originally a permaculture design for a combined social and land-use revolution, and
Habitude, on ‘How can attitudes and ideology change?’ and ‘Why are they so resistant to change?’

I acquired this site in April 2007, set it up with much enthusiasm but other priorities intervened and it got added to from time to time in a rather haphazard way. Now, in January 2008, it is getting a tidy up. The obvious thing to do was separate the list of links and articles on the home page, and the links that happned to be there are below.

Communication

Last year (see Communication 1/4/07) I was a victim, as I see it, of what is called ‘Non-Violent Communication’ (NVC), which is anything but non-violent. This is a subject I intend to explore and write up in an article. I have ordered Violence by Slavoj Zizek, because I am particularly interested in his concept of ‘systemic’ violence, which is essentially the catastrophic consequence of the smooth functioning of our economic and political systems. Is doing nothing the worst sort of violence? I think it is, and so is doing too little, or hogging ideas which could be world-saving, making them the precious possession of a sect instead of sharing them widely and allowing them to become a revolutionary movement.
